Rusty Quill’s first venture into a “talking heads” podcast format, Enthusigasm was hosted by Helen Gould and was initially launched as a Patreon exclusive in October 2020, later becoming publicly available. Unlike Rusty Quill’s audio fiction projects, this podcast took a more relaxed and conversational approach, bringing together members of the RQ team and guests from across podcasting and new media to explore a wide range of topics.
Each episode focused on a specific theme—ranging from baking and cinematography to space, musicals, and beyond—offering a mix of personal insights, expertise, and light-hearted banter. The show provided a platform for passionate discussions and anecdotes about niche interests, connecting fans with the RQ team beyond their scripted productions.

- Patrons can listen to an additional series of Enthusigasm not available to the public, plus extended versions of the public feed episodes
- The Rusty Quill team love the Lord of the Rings series so much that it took four episodes of Enthusigasm to cover it!
Reviews
Helen is great at picking guests and guiding discussion so that episodes stay on theme! A lot of talk podcasts I find will drift into tangents and unrelated conversations, and while Enthusigasm does find niche facts to fall into discussion on, it always feels like a promise fulfilled to the episode title. I love the revolving cast of personalities that are brought on for each new topic, and the variety of discussion topics means it’s easy to jump in at any episode and have a great time listening!! - Apple Podcasts review
